Blepharoplasty

What is it?
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that involves removing or repositioning excess skin, muscle, and fat around the upper and/or lower eyelids. This surgery is primarily performed for aesthetic reasons to improve the appearance of the eyes and face, but it can also be performed for functional reasons, such as improving vision in cases where a drooping upper eyelid obscures part of the vision.
During surgery, the surgeon makes incisions along the natural lines of the eyelids to minimize the appearance of scars. He or she then removes or repositions excess skin, muscle, and fat before closing the incisions with sutures.
Blepharoplasty is generally a safe and effective procedure, but like any surgery, it can present risks and complications. It's important to discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure with a qualified plastic surgeon before deciding if blepharoplasty is right for you.
