Acne

What is it?
Acne is a common skin condition that affects most people at some point in their lives. It is characterized by the appearance of skin lesions, such as pimples, blackheads, and cysts, mainly on the face, neck, chest, back, and shoulders. Acne occurs when hair follicles become clogged with dead skin cells, oil produced by sebaceous glands, and sometimes bacteria.
Factors such as hormonal changes, genetic predisposition, excess oil production, clogged pores, inflammation, and bacterial growth contribute to the development of acne. Additionally, certain factors, such as stress, poor diet, use of certain skin care products, exposure to certain medications, and underlying health conditions, can aggravate acne.
