Liposuction

What is it?
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that involves the removal of localized fat from specific areas of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs, hips, arms, chin, and others. The technique is performed using a thin cannula inserted through small incisions in the skin, and the fat is sucked out using a suction device.
Liposuction is recommended for people who want to eliminate localized fat deposits that persist despite diet and exercise, and who want to improve their appearance. It's important to emphasize that liposuction is not a general weight loss procedure and shouldn't be considered a permanent solution for obesity. It's essential that patients maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly to maintain the results obtained with the procedure.
How to prepare?
Undergo medical examinations and evaluations;
Quit smoking before surgery;
Adjust your current medications; avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatories, and natural medications, as they can increase bleeding.
Postoperative
Post-operative compression garments are placed on the treated areas at the end of the procedure, as they help control swelling and compress the skin;
Additionally, a small drain may be placed in the incisions under the skin to remove any excess blood or fluid;
Lymphatic drainage is important for the results and can be performed in the clinic or at home.
